Associate Product Manager

Product India

About the role

About the role

Hike Cinema is our microdrama streaming app: short, episodic stories built for mobile. As APM you will work on Cinema end to end with product, engineering, design, content and growth.

This is a hands-on role. Direction comes from product leadership; you turn it into shipped features, run experiments and own a small set of metrics. It suits someone early in their career with very high agency who wants to learn fast by shipping.

What you'll do

  • Own a slice of the product. Take ownership of specific Cinema surfaces (onboarding, the player, discovery, guest and rewards) and the metrics tied to them.
  • Know the viewer. Watch the data and talk to users every week. Study viewing behaviour: episode completion, episode-to-episode drop-off, binge sessions, D1 and D7 retention.
  • Learn from the category. Track microdrama, OTT and short-video apps in India and abroad, and bring back what works.
  • Ship. Write crisp specs, work with engineering and design through the build, test before release and follow up after launch.
  • Experiment. Run A/B tests on onboarding, episode hooks, pricing and notifications, and read the results honestly.
  • Drive growth. Find levers across acquisition, activation, retention and monetisation, and push them with the growth and content teams.
  • Report what moved. Build and maintain reports so the team can see what is working.
  • Use AI in how you work. Research, prototype, analyse and write faster with AI tools.

What we're looking for

  • 1 to 3 years in product, growth or business analysis at a consumer internet company (B2C or high-scale B2B2C). Not SaaS, enterprise software or services.
  • Very high agency. You find and solve problems without being asked and get things shipped.
  • A love for consumer apps and a clear view on why people keep coming back to them.
  • Clear writing: specs, user stories and updates people can act on.
  • Great taste in UI and strong fundamental understanding of UX
  • First-principles thinking, a strong bias for action, and low ego with high ownership.

Big plus

  • Experience in microdrama, OTT, short-video or other streaming apps, or real time spent using these apps and pulling them apart.
  • Exposure to growth work: onboarding, retention loops, referrals, paywalls or subscriptions.
  • Clear, demonstrable impact from using AI in your work. Show us examples.
  • Experience building for Indian users, including Bharat and regional-language audiences.
